We were retained by our client to help them with communicating with staff through the consultation process that would ultimately lead to the withdrawal from the Teacher’s Pension Scheme (TPS). Although this process has been completed by a number of schools, we were aware that in some cases, a poorly communicated withdrawal, particularly in a staff room where morale was low, could cause significant unrest.
We were able to bring our experience of communicating this subject in other schools to this client, and worked closely with the bursar and their pensions advisors to draft clear and concise communications that explained the rationale for the proposed move and the effects that any changes might have on staff pensions and salaries.
